About Us

Education and Training

General Information

  • Tripler Directorate of Health Education and Training (DOHET) is a resource for all hospital education, training and staff development. DOHET manages and coordinates activities that promote the readiness level and provides educational opportunities for Tripler.

Student/Trainee Requirements​

Post Graduate Verification

Educational/Training Rotations

  • Are limited to students/trainees enrolled in formal education and training programs at an accredited school or institution.
  • For any civilian student/trainee (this includes Health Profession Scholarship Program (HPSP)) students doing an NADT (non-active duty training) rotation here at Tripler, we must have a memorandum of agreement in place between Tripler and the student's school or institution (takes from two to six months to complete) before the student may train at Tripler.  
    • The Graduate Medical Education Office is the proponent for the establishment of agreements with medical schools.
    • Directorate of Academics, Research and Training is the proponent for the establishment of agreements with all allied health and administrative educational institutions.

PHI/PII Information

To protect student/trainee information, all protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) will be encrypted and be submitted to appropriate educational coordinator/sponsor via the DoD SAFE (Department of Defense Safe Access File Exchange) website.
  • Please follow the instructions on website for submission of documentation to your educational coordinator/sponsor.
  • All non-PHI/PII documentation can be submitted via regular e-mail channels or the DoD SAFE website to your educational coordinator/sponsor.
