Services Provided

Services provided at our clinic and PFT Lab include, but are not limited to:

  • Pulmonary Lung Function Testing; spirometry, diffusion, total lung volumes, Methacholine Bronchoprovication Test, Exercise Laryngoscopy, 6 Minute Walk, Desaturation Study, Altitude Stress Test, Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Test
  • Pulmonary Procedures; Airway Screen, Endo-Bronchial Ultrasound(EBUS), Radial Probe EBUS, Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy(ENB), Fluoroscopy,  Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Inter-Pleural Catheter

How to make an appointment

The phone number to the Pulmonary clinic appointment line is (808) 433-5759. The appointment line is open Monday thru Friday, except holidays, 8:00 a.m. - 3 p.m.

There are no walk-ins appointments for the PFT lab.  All PFT lab patients are screened for COVID-19 signs and symptoms prior to setting appointments. Once the consult is in the system, one of the staff will call patients to setup appointments.

In order to mitigate risks due to COVID-19 pandemic, PFT lab will schedule appointments no more than two weeks out. Patients who find they cannot keep a  scheduled appointment should call in to cancel as soon as possible, so that another patient can fill the appointment time. The phone number to cancel Pulmonary clinic appointment is (808) 433-5759. Appointments that are not canceled more than 24 hours in advance are considered a same-day cancellation.

FAQs:

Q: Can I schedule a Pulmonary Function Test at Schofield Barracks Health Clinic?
A: No, currently we are not set up to have patients seen at the Occupational Health Clinic and all appointments will be at Tripler AMC.

Q: Can patients walk-in for routine Pulmonary Function Tests?
A: No, due to COVID-19 concerns and CDC guidance we cannot support a walk-in clinic and all procedures will require an appointment.

Q: Why do they ask that I get Albuterol before my scheduled appointment, I do not have asthma?
A: Due to COVID-19 concerns we can no longer provide a meter-dosed inhaler during testing due to Infection Control concerns. If PCM does not require a post-bronchodilator study, this is not required. If pre-test is done and patient does not have medication, they may have to return for further testing and may wait several weeks. It is highly recommended for patient to bring bronchodilator to PFT.

Q: What happens if I am late by more than 10 minutes or No Show for an appointment?
A: If patient is more than 10 minutes late or fails to show for an appointment, they will be notified by phone of the missed appointment and will go the bottom of the list to be rescheduled. If this happens more than once, the consult may be canceled and a letter sent to PCM notifying them of cancelation.

Q: What if there is a change in my health after I am screened, and before my appointment?
A: Please contact the clinic to notify them of the change. They will then determine if you need to see a Provider or cancel your appointment.
