FAQ's:
Q: How can I be seen at the Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic?
A: Please talk to your PCP regarding whether it is necessary to be seen for specialty care at the Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic. Tripler Army Medical Center has excellent primary care providers who often can manage issues such as Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, obesity, and type 2 diabetes without requiring specialty consultation.
Q: Does Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic provide virtual health services?
A: Yes! The Tripler Army Medical Center Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic offers video virtual health appointments even prior to the COVID19 response. With our COVID19 response, we have gone almost completely virtual, including our diabetes education and support groups.
Q: Which platforms are used for video virtual health care?
A: Yes! The Tripler Army Medical Center Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic offers video virtual health appointments from Desmond Doss Clinic at Schofield Barracks, Kaneohe Bay, and also from the patient’s home location. We use Adobe Connect and Cisco Meeting Server to connect with our patients to their home location. If you are unable to connect from home or if the Endocrinologist or Diabetes NP requires exam/vital signs then you can go the virtual cart locations at Schofield Barracks and Kaneohe Bay which may be more conveniently located to your work/home.
