Occupational Therapy (OT)
Occupational Therapy is a rehabilitation profession that incorporates the use of occupation and meaningful activity into the healing process. Occupational therapists are trained in all aspects of human performance with an emphasis on balance between the heart, mind, body and spirit.
The primary mission is to restore the Soldier in transition's vocational and educational needs to maximize functional performance, quality of life and readiness to return to duty or transition to a productive civilian life though planning and goal setting.
The occupational therapist works closely with Soldier to evaluate, identify, challenge, and provide resources to assist the Soldier in their recovery. Every Soldier meets with OT for an initial evaluation and has regular reevaluations to ensure Soldiers have the most effective treatment plan possible.
