FAQ's:

Q: How can I get a copy of my child’s medical records?
A: A release has to be signed and turned in to the medical records office. Sometimes it takes up to 30 days to receive them.

Q: I sleep in the same bed as my baby at home. Why can’t I here?
A: 7B1 follows the safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics; to sleep in the same room, but not on the same sleep surface.

Q: Can I bring my own food in or food that my child likes?
A: Absolutely! We have a patient nourishment (food) refrigerator for these items. We simply ask that you label it with your child’s name and the date it was brought in.

Q: Can we bring in a cot or make a pallet of blankets for the other parent?
A: Because of fire regulations and safety, this cannot be allowed
.
Q: What if my child or I don’t feel their pain is being well managed?
A: Please mention this to your child’s nurse or doctor and see what can be done. Unfortunately, there are times where we can help their pain, but not take it away completely.

The care and safety of your child is our #1 concern and priority. We strive to provide the safest care possible. “If you see something, say something.” This means that if you see one of us not use hand sanitizer or wash our hands, we welcome you to point it out (this is just one example).

The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed several practices and guidelines. We are in an unprecedented time and, for the safety of our patients, visitors are limited to parents only. We do allow both parents at the patient’s bedside.

We accept customer satisfaction feedback through our FOCUS "For Our Customer's Ultimate Satisfaction" Cards (located throughout the hospital) and through our Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) site located on the Internet at http://ice.disa.mil. If you have any questions, you may contact our Customer Relations office.
