Army Body Composition Program

Service Members who exceed the Army’s height/weight and body fat standards and incur a "flag" on their records must be referred to the Army Body Composition Program (ABCP).Soldiers have 30 days after enrollment in the ABCP to receive nutrition counseling. Within 14 days of the notification counseling, Soldiers in the ABCP must respond to the commander with a Soldier Action Plan confirming that he or she has read USAPHC TG 358, provide the date and time of scheduled nutrition counseling, and indicate what approach he or she intends to use to work towards meeting the body fat standard.

To ensure Service Members successfully maintain body fat standards, remaining enrolled in the BCP until reaching 2% under their maximum body fat standards for 2 consecutive months is highly recommended. Service Members must attend Fit For Performance - Session 1 (Weight Management Basics) to receive a signed nutrition counseling memo that meets the requirements of AR 600-9. Please bring your Soldier Action Plan to Fit For Performance - Session 1 for review.
