Executive Medicine
What is Executive Medicine?
Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific (DHN-IP) Executive Medicine (EM) services are available to support the unique health considerations of senior officers O-7 and above, nominative senior enlisted leaders in the grade of E-9, TRICARE-eligible executive service civilians, foreign military personnel in comparable grades, and eligible family members. EM is a service provided to those who require additional support due to their significant roles in national security and unique duty requirements (including demanding work schedules and travel requirements). These beneficiaries require more flexible access to medical appointments and pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology services. These individuals also have a greater need for protecting their privacy (including their medical records).
What services are provided?
The EM program acts as a single touchpoint for patient access and the flow of information, including primary care and specialty care in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) network, or elsewhere in the Direct Care System. Providers also take care of the readiness needs of beneficiaries. Patients can meet their providers virtually or in person, and beneficiaries will have after hours contact information. Additionally, EM provides patient follow up and helps provide continuity of care as beneficiaries transition from one duty station to another and prepare for retirement or transition to the civilian sector.
