Release of Legal Blood Alcohol Testing

Blood alcohol testing where the results are reported in a Chain of Evidence document MUST be specifically requested by law enforcement agents or the patient’s Chain of Command personnel at the Emergency Department, Tripler Army Medical Center.

Release of the legal document is very strict: results may be released only from the Office of the Chief, Patient Administration Department (PAD), and only to the following specific entitled individuals who have a legitimate Need-to-Know and appropriate justification:
a. Law Enforcement agency representatives
b. Judge Advocate system representatives
c. Patient
d. For Military personnel to the Unit Commander, XO, or 1SG only.
