Tripler Army Medical Center  –   Each year Tripler Army Medical Center recognizes World Lymphedema Awareness Day on March 6. Lymphedema is a condition in which high protein swelling occurs when lymph nodes are removed or when there is trauma or impairment to the lymphatic system.

World Lymphedema Awareness Day gives all those involved in the care of lymphedema, including healthcare providers and patients, an opportunity to break down barriers.

Here at Tripler Army Medical Center, Ms. Eileen Itamoto-Gaza is an Occupational Therapist with a national board certification in lymphedema and offers specialized lymphedema rehabilitation services.
