The Mission of the Uniform Business Office is to provide a uniform management system for hospital business functions.  The goal of the Uniform Business Office is to provide accounts receivable management and accounts payable function through the Supplemental or Coorperative Care and Centrally Managed Allotment (CMA) Programs where applicable.

Uniform Business Office Basic Functions

Medical Services Accounts - Hospital Treasurer's Office

• Claims for care provided to beneficiaries of other Federal Departments

• Claims for private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and Crime Victims.

• Claims under the local VA/DoD Sharing Agreement

• Receive payments for elective surgery

• Confiscated ID Cards

• Eligibility for care determinations for beneficiaries

• Inpatient Valuables and funds - Patient Trust Fund

Third Party Collection Program

• Claims to third party insurances for Retirees, Dependents of retirees, and Dependents of active duty beneficiaries.

• Pre-certification of inpatient, same day surgeries and certain outpatient services.

• In conjunction with Ft Bliss Staff Judge Advocate, processes liability claims for DoD beneficiaries.  (Medical Affirmative Claims)

• Collection and maintenance of Health Insurance Information
