Unique Opportunities
International Travel
One of the most exciting aspects of our residency program is the ability to participate in missions to international locations. These missions can take several forms, from providing humanitarian assistance, to working in military research laboratories learning about tropical infectious diseases, to attending international conferences. Military residents have recently traveled to places such as American Samoa, Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, Palau, the Marshall Islands, Peru, Nepal and Kenya. Civilian residents have done clinical rotations in American Samoa, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii. All rotations off of the island of Oahu are contingent on funding sources and not guaranteed.
