Tripler Army Medical Center

Tripler Army Medical Center is the only federal tertiary care hospital in the Pacific Basin. It supports 264,000 local active duty and retired military personnel, their families, and veteran beneficiaries. In addition, the referral population includes 171,000 members, veteran beneficiaries, residents of nine U.S. affiliated jurisdictions (American Samoa, Guam, and the former Trust Territories), and forward-deployed forces in more than 40 countries throughout the Pacific. Interns will rotate through General Surgery, Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department. Tripler Army Medical Center is where Residents will complete the majority of their residency training.

Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center is located less than one mile from Tripler Army Medical Center. Kaiser has a renovated 16-bed combined MICU/SICU, as well as 16 remodeled state-of-the-art operating rooms. Tripler Urology residents will rotate at Kaiser in years two and four of their residency with a total of six months rotation time at Kaiser. The resident rotating at Kaiser will prepare and present a monthly conference which involves presentation of interesting cases treated at Kaiser; specifically details of the case, work-up, management, and discussion of the disease process.

Kapiolani Medical Center For Women & Children

Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit hospital and is widely known as Hawaii’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With more than 1,500 employees and 630 physicians, Kapiolani is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent nonprofit organization that certifies health care organizations and programs in the United States. Residents will rotate at Kapiolani in year four of their residency for two months.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. MSKCC is home to 28 state-of-the-art operating rooms, innovative cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other infusions; internal and external radiation; and cutting-edge clinical trials. Residents will rotate at MSKCC during years three and four of their residency with a total of seven months rotation time at MSKCC. During the rotations at MSKCC, the resident is responsible for attending/presenting at several conferences. These conferences include monthly morbidity and mortality conference, weekly urology faculty lecture, Department of Surgery Grand Rounds, and a weekly resident-run case-presentation conference.
