Medical Student Applicants

General Information 

  • All educational rotations are limited to four weeks. 
  • No educational rotations will be scheduled during the months of November and DecemberDates available for educational rotations are listed below.
  • All educational rotations begin on a Monday and end on a Friday.  No exception.
  • No six-week rotations or two educational rotations combined into a six/four-week rotation so to allow more students to rotate and interview with one of our residency programs.
  • Health Profession Scholarship Program (HPSP) students are reminded that you can only do two (2) NADT (non-active duty training) rotations per school academic year and one (1) ADT (active duty training) tour per fiscal year.  No exceptions!
  • No civilian students during the May through October timeframe as this is reserved for military students to interview with a selected program for internship.  Exception to this policy are those civilian students applying for a Department of Veterans Affairs residency slot.
  • Training Agreement: For any civilian student (this includes HPSP students doing an NADT rotation to do an educational rotation here at Tripler, we must have a training agreement in place between Tripler and the student's school or institution (takes from two to six months to complete) before the student may train at Tripler.  Point of contact for medical school agreements is the Graduate Medical Education Office.
  • All students are required to have a JKO (Joint Knowledge Online) account.  JKO account is required to complete HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act), Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Awareness Challenge, and MHS (Military Health System) Genesis training.

All students will review the educational rotation dates listed below prior to contacting the program to arrange an educational rotation. Application is to be submitted no earlier than 75 days prior to rotation start date as indicated below.
